Currently over here transitioning my wardrobe from summer to fall thanks to my most recent Asos order – I really hit the jackpot with this one, you guys! I scored SOOO many high-quality fall staple pieces, most of which have coincided with some of the biggest fashion trends of the season. In this post, I thought I’d share five of my favorite fall 2020 fashion trends, along with links to some of the most stylish Asos pieces I’ve found for rocking each trend. Keep on reading to check them out!

1. Oversized Blazers

Okay, this is hands-down my favorite trend of the season. I know that blazers are almost always a fall staple item, but this year they come with an added twist: the more oversized and slouchy they are, the better! If it looks like you’re wearing a blazer from the men’s section, then you’ve hit the nail on the head!

It’s such an easy layering piece, looks chic on everyone, and can be worn a million different ways: from a casual “sweatpants and sneakers” look to a show-stopping “leather shorts and over-the-knee boots” pairing.

I’ve linked a few of my favorite oversized Asos blazers here for you guys to check out (including the two that I purchased – seen in the photos below).

2. Leather Statement Pieces

From leather suit sets to leather outerwear, this season leather is on EVERYTHING! I purchased the cutest faux cognac leather trench coat from Asos for under $50 (see below) which I plan on wearing all season long. It’s currently sold out, but I’ve linked lots of other leather “separates” in its place.

Another popular leather staple I’ve seen all over Instagram recently are loose-fitting, faux-leather shorts. I recently purchased a black pair from Kohl’s for under $30 (now on sale for only $18!) which I’m really loving, so I will link those along with the rest of my favorite leather statement picks from Asos in the carousel below.

3. Chunky Combat Boots

I think it’s safe to say that chunky combat boots have easily become the biggest footwear trend of the fall 2020 season. They first became popular in the 90’s, with the chunky Doc Marten style of boot, but they’re now back again (and more popular than ever)! I love how they add an element of edge to an outfit and that they can be paired with so many different “looks”.

This season, the chunkier the combat boot, the better. Lug soles and platform heels are popular variations as well. As per usual, Asos has killed it with their selection of chunky combat boots, so I’ve rounded up a few of my absolute favorites for you guys to check out below.

4. Baggy Loose-Fitting 90’s Jeans

I really can’t get enough of all the 90’s vibes at the moment, and this season’s new cool-girl denim is no exception. Loose-fitting and baggy “skater jeans” are back from the grunge-era in a big way this fall.

The oversized “slouchy” fit makes these jeans perfectly conducive to our new “stay-at-home” lifestyles, but they still look ultra-cool and trendy if you decide to take them out on the town as well. You can pair them with pretty much anything in your closet from an oversized blazer and heels to a cropped cardigan and sneakers. When in doubt, the baggier the silhouette, the better.

I’m currently waiting on a pair from Asos to come in the mail because I had to exchange the ones I ordered for a smaller size, but I’ve linked multiple options for you guys to shop/check out below!

5. Shirt Dresses

The shirt dress trend is exactly what it sounds like: a shirt with enough length that it can be worn as a dress. This trend can be incredibly versatile as it comes in a variety of different sleeve lengths, hemlines, styles, etc. Typically worn as a classic, white, tailored button-up shirt dress, it’s now being transformed to accommodate lots of different textures/fabrics, prints, lengths, colors, etc.

From asymmetrical shirt dresses to more feminine styles (with cute details like puffed sleeves, ruffles, and pleats), I’m definitely considering this a MUST-HAVE for my fall 2020 wardrobe. Once again, I’ve linked up the best of the best from Asos in the section below!
